3,500 years ago: Just like their human predecessors,
the human-looking robots on Earth build their very own
mechanical robot slaves. The monotheistic Thirteenth
Tribe of human-looking robots acquire the ability to
reproduce sexually and do so for so long they eventually
forget how to resurrect.
2,000 years ago (on Earth): The human-looking robots we know as the Final Five
Ellen Tigh Galen Tyrol, Samuel Anders Daniel Graystone
Tory Foster, Saul Tigh, Ellen’s favorite creation (Number 7)
are born to the Thirteenth Tribe of human-looking robots who have now been inhabiting the
Earth for 1,800 years. When they grow up, they all become scientists who are warned that their
mechanical robot slaves (First Robotic Cylons) plan to destroy them. They rediscover the resurrection technology and put a resurrection ship in orbit just in case they are killed by their mechanical robots.
The human-looking robots and their mechanical robot-looking slaves mutually assure their own destruction when a mechanical robot rebellion ensues.— except for the Final 5, whose brains are downloaded up to their new bodies on the resurrection ship.
2,000 years ago (on Kobol): Something causes the Twelve Tribes of humans to leave Kobol and settle on twelve loosely-affiliated planets. Each of the Twelve Colonies develops an individual mono-planetary culture.
Between 2,000 years ago and 53 years ago (in the 12 Colonies): Mono-planetary cultures again create robots but this time, having learned from their mistakes they do not make robot slaves in their human image but instead create “toasters” Cylon Centurions who eventually want their freedom just like the human-looking robots and their mechanical robot-looking slaves did. Apparently Cylons become extremely volatile while in captivity and have a tendency to turn on their masters. The 12 Colonies unite under the Articles of Colonization.
Between 2,000 years ago and 53 years ago (on their way from the resurrection ship to the Twelve Colonies): the Final Five move at sub-light speed to reach the 12 Colonies. (Remember, Earth has been destroyed in an all out atomic war between the human-looking robot Cylons or Final Five bioengineered beings and their mechanical robot-looking slave Cylons)
Approximately 53 to 40 years ago: “Toaster” Cylon Centurions and the Twelve Colonies fight a war.
At the “Toaster” Cylon Centurions’ home base, they try and develop their own human-looking robots. These are to be the hybrids that would control their ships. Unfortunately, the “Toaster” Cylon Centurions are unable to produce their own human-looking robots. The Final Five finally reach the Twelve Colonies. They convince the Toasters to end the war with the humans by promising to help them create human-looking robots “hybrids” similar to themselves. Once the Toasters have their very own human-looking robots that are similar to the Final Five, they then can have their own off spring or slaves to control their base ships.
Between 40 years ago and the Galactica Miniseries: The Final Five are true to their word. They help the “Toaster” Cylon Centurions to make human-looking robots or “hybrids”. After all, they can sympathize with the Cylon Centurions as their very own race was once enslaved by the Humans and they themselves eventually had the need to create mechanical robot-looking slaves. It seems only fitting that the “Toaster” Cylon Centurions would want human-looking robots or hybrids of their own. The first cybernetic creature that the Final Five bioengineer for the Toaster Cylon Centurions is named Number One.
Number: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 The Creator: Ellen Tigh
He's modeled after Ellen's father. Number One than helps Ellen and the others create Numbers Two through Eight. Number One eventually comes to feel that he doesn’t like that he was created with human limitations. Number One is consumed by jealousy and becomes unstable. Seeking justice, he orchestrates two plots: Plot A is to kill the Final Five and have Ellen and the others resurrected in the colonies—he wants them to suffer the limitations they imposed on him. Plot B is to have Daniel Graystone (Number seven) of the Final Five’s eight different hybrids permanently boxed. Ellen and the remaining four of the Thirteenth Tribe of human-looking robots are resurrected and live among the Twelve Colonies until the Cylon Centurions attack again, this time nuking the humans living on Caprica along with the other humans (of the eleven colonies who are living on other loosely-affiliated planets in the galaxy. The nuclear holocaust and human genocide was seen in the Galactica Miniseries when the show first started.
Note: One thing that confuses people is that all the robots are called Cylons. They shouldn't be. We should only speak of Cylons when referring to the Toasters, the hybrids they created, and the human-looking robots they created with the help of Ellen, Saul, Galen, Anders and Tory. Why? Because we know that human historians did not refer to the Thirteenth Tribe as Cylons, and that Ellen, Saul, Galen, Anders and Tory are descendents of the Thirteenth Tribe. You could make a larger argument about lineage and descent—the fact that Saul can procreate with Number Six means they belong to the same species.
